| Apple Mountain Ski Patrol Director to serve on the National Ski Patrol Historic Safety Team
January 18, 2008–The National Ski Patrol (NSP) Lakewood, Colorado, selected Denny McMahan, Patrol Director of the Apple Mountain Ski Patrol to serve on the historic 7- Member NSP Safety Team. Chosen from ski patrol units throughout the United States, the Safety Team members were selected based on their contributions to on slope safety.
Denny McMahan has been involved in ski patrol since 1989 and as served as the Ski Patrol Director at Apple Mountain since 2001. Mr. McMahan received the Central Division of NSP’s Outstanding Patrol Director in 2003.
Under Mr. McMahan’s leadership, The Apple Mountain Ski Patrol began a children’s summer and winter helmet safety program.
Safety On The Slopes (S.O.S.) is used in over 50 patrol units throughout the United States. In conjunction with the Field Neuroscience Institute, located in Saginaw, Mr. McMahan promotes snow and summer sport helmet safety throughout the state. |
