WHAT’S NEW AT CRYSTAL FOR WINTER 2007/08
THOMPSONVILLE, MICH. – Crystal Mountain continues to grow this winter with a substantial increase in snowmaking capacity and the development of a second Trailside Cabins community. Crystal is also introducing a new season pass and a winter family festival for 2007/08.
NEW! Snowmaking increased 30%!
Crystal Mountain has increased its snowmaking capability by 30% not only reducing its reliance on natural snowfall but improving the rate at which it can open and maintain skiable terrain. This substantial investment that includes additional water pumping capacity and five new snowguns will maximize efficiency during those critical windows when the temperature dips below 28-degrees. Crystal has also taken the first step toward automating the snowmaking process. Four existing snow guns will be equipped with computers that precisely regulate water flow as the temperature rises and falls. Crystal Mountain now boasts 126 snowguns with the addition of four new Polecat snowguns and one Viking snowgun.
NEW! Development begins on second Trailside neighborhood
With the first phase of the Trailside project sold out and several homes under construction, work is underway on a second Trailside neighborhood. This next phase will be situated along the eighth hole of Crystal’s signature Mountain Ridge golf course and just steps from the cross-country and hiking trail system. This fall, Crystal Mountain Realty will begin taking Priority Reservation Agreements for the second phase. When completed, the Trailside community will include seven neighborhoods of 1,600-2,600 square-foot whole-ownership cabins interconnected by a series of cross-country and hiking trails. Trailside is the latest step in Crystal’s master plan, Emergent Directions, in which over $30 million has been invested in the resort’s growth over the last five years.
NEW! Day Break Season Pass
This winter Crystal is offering a special season pass to those skiers and boarders who love to spend their weekdays on the slopes. The Day Break Season Pass costs just $139 and offers unlimited skiing and riding every Monday thru Friday from 9am-4:30pm (excluding holidays) all winter long. It represents a significant discount for those who can sneak away midweek for a break on the slopes.
