During January, ski areas across the state team up with Michigan McDonald’s restaurants to offer an affordable introduction to the sport of skiing and snowboarding.

Discover Michigan Skiing includes a beginner lesson, ski or snowboard rental equipment and a beginner-area ski lift pass or cross-country trail pass all for just:             
Cross-country skiing for $20   •    Downhill skiing or Snowboarding $35 

Please note:  Discover Michigan Skiing is normally only offered in January.  However some ski areas are continuing the program into February or they offer their own Learn-to-ski option.  We suggest that you contact the ski area you wish to visit in order to discover their learning program.  Below is a partial list of programs offered in February:

Timber Ridge:

LEARN TO SKI/ SNOWBOARD!
This is a program for beginning students ages 7 thru adult for skiing and 8 thru adult snowboarding learn basic skills. The program is held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 5PM until 10PM local time, with lessons at 6:30PM local time.
Lessons are 2 hours each. You may stay after class and practice skills. Family Groups Welcome!
Cost:
Skiing 7 and older is $40 per session (lift, rental, lesson)
Snowboarding 8 and older is $40 per session (lift, rental. lesson)

Pine Mountain:

Shanty Creek Resorts:

Super Sundays is a learn to ski and ride program for the entire family at the new beginner area in Cedar River Village on the north side of Schuss Mountain. Your family can learn to ski together with a lesson skill station set-up on the Magic Carpet slope. Then after successfully conquering the skill stations, you will move on to the bigger lifts.

Each Sunday through March 13 (excluding February 14) from 1-4:30 p.m., Super Sundays cost only $25 per person and include rentals, lift ticket and a group lesson.  More information here.
